New England Music Festival's Solo & Ensemble Event:
Saturday, December 5, University of Southern Maine, Gorham.
This festival is an opportunity for some of your gifted high school students to perform quality literature for feedback and adjudication. Based on their rating, students who perform pieces from the New England listing will be considered for inclusion in the Concert Festival in March (hosted in Burlington, CT this year).
Students may perform solos and a wide variety of trios, quartets and quintets, both instrumentally and vocally. This event is open to any sponsoring organization, including public and private schools and private teachers. We hope you and some of your students can participate this year continuing a long history of Maine's participation in the eighty years of the New England Music Festival.
More information is available at www.nemfa.org. The New England listing of pieces is available at this site along with sample adjudication forms and lots of other New England information.
Online registrations due Oct. 31.
